It took until 1977 for a Brooklynite to win Best Actor, and then it was Richard Dreyfuss, who was born in Brooklyn but raised in Bayside, for The Goodbye Girl. To date—and it won’t change this weekend—he’s the only Brooklyn son to win Best Actor.
