The 76th Precinct, covering Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill and Red Hook, reported no murders last year—and, so far, no murders this year. No disputes started in a Smith Street bar, spilled out onto the sidewalk, and ended in bloodshed. Furthermore, no one was murdered in Red Hook, not even after Sandy, when people came together as a community even though they had plenty to lose their shit over, like the power being off for weeks.
