This 140-year-old former company building is all that remains of the five acre New York and Long Island Coignet Stone Company factory complex. This crumbly stone building has spooked Gowanus tootlers for years; Whole Foods plans to build around it, and has promised to fix up the facade, though it doesn’t own the building, which is presently for sale.
