Can’t Stomach Thanksgiving with Your Family? Spend It at These Family-Owned Restaurants Instead

Tacis Beyti: Owner Ersin Bek hasn’t changed much about the menu at this standout Turkish restaurant, ever since his father, Taci, opened up shop in 1988. Best to hone in on anything featuring lamb (chops, kebabs, the ground meat-topped pide and lahmacun), or eggplant (whipped, stuffed, or pan-fried with spicy tomato sauce), although the decidedly unusual pastrami — air-dried and aggressively seasoned beef draped atop creamy hummus, dribbled with butter and flash broiled — makes for a seriously delicious deviation.
