The 5 Best Alternative Workouts in Brooklyn
Brooklyn Boulders: One of the best physical feelings we’ve ever had was when we scaled one of the intimidatingly high climbing walls at Brooklyn Boulders and realized that, yes, we would have been amazing on American Gladiators. And that great feeling continued as we sat back in our harness and gently bounced our way down from those dizzying heights, looked into our partner’s eyes and told them to hurry up with their own climb, because we wanted to go up again as soon as possible. That’s the great thing about Brooklyn Boulders, not only is it an intense workout (and if you don’t believe us, just take a look around at every man and woman in the place…they’re all ripped), but it’s also really, really fun. And whether you’re climbing using ropes, free-climbing, or even just practicing your tightrope walking, you’ll find yourself physically and mentally engaged the whole time you’re there. Plus, there’s a deal going on right now for an unlimited three-month winter pass, which is great for those of us who can’t fathom exercising outside in the cold, but also don’t want to join a traditional gym.
