Dog Run Coming To Williamsburg In 2015
Heads up, dog owners of Williamsburg: A dog run is coming to your neighborhood!
A fully-realized plan for a dog run in East River State Park has been finalized, following a $450,000 grant from the city to complete the project, DNAinfo reports. Now, the community-supported proposal just has to go to the state for approval. If that goes well, the city could break ground by September.
The new 5000-square-foot dog run will occupy a section of East River State Park between North 7th and 10th Streets and feature low maintenance pea gravel and, in the best case, shrubbery and trees to protect pups from the elements. But there won’t be much else. It’s simply meant to be a safe space for pet owners and their dogs to romp around.
The dog run will open in Spring 2015 if all goes as planned.
