Then, use your ticket to the Grammy Award-winning ensemble’s Austria & Hungary concert in the museum’s intimate concert hall, which will highlight music with roots in Central Europe—from a Mozart Divertimento and Haydn Quartet to the U.S. premiere of Iván Fischer’s Shudh Sarang Sextet for strings and tabla, inspired by the Hungarian composer’s trip to India.
And save some energy immediately following the concert, because you won’t want to miss this afterparty in the Morgan Café, which is exclusively for ages 45 and under. Snack on complimentary hor d’oeurves and sip on drinks (your first one is one the house!) while members of the Athena Ensemble performing on instruments from Eastern cultures—tabla drum player Deep Singh and koto player Yumi Kurusawa, to be specific—provide the party’s informal background music, improvising on the tunes you heard in the St. Luke’s performance earlier in the evening.
