More than Music at Continental Connections
Can’t choose your favorite weekend activity? Why not have it all: explore a museum, hear a concert, and grab a drink at a genre-bending evening with the St. Luke’s Chamber Ensemble at their Continental Connections event this Friday, February 26th.
The performance takes place at The Morgan—one of New York City’s great historic sites and home to an unparalleled collection of rare books, manuscripts, and art exhibits. And tickets for the event package, which includes much more than just the concert, are only $45 (actual value $95)!
Show up early to take advantage of your all-day admission to The Morgan museum and library. Then, use your ticket to the Grammy Award-winning ensemble’s Austria & Hungary concert in the museum’s intimate concert hall, which will highlight music with roots in Central Europe—from a Mozart Divertimento and Haydn Quartet to the U.S. premiere of Iván Fischer’s Shudh Sarang Sextet for strings and tabla, inspired by the Hungarian composer’s trip to India.
And save some energy immediately following the concert, because you won’t want to miss this afterparty in the Morgan Café, which is exclusively for ages 45 and under. Snack on complimentary hor d’oeurves and sip on drinks (your first one is one the house!) while members of the Athena Ensemble performing on instruments from Eastern cultures—tabla drum player Deep Singh and koto player Yumi Kurusawa, to be specific—provide the party’s informal background music, improvising on the tunes you heard in the St. Luke’s performance earlier in the evening.
The concert starts at 7:30, and the party follows immediately after. Don’t miss out on a fun-filled, unique evening: get your tickets today!
