President Obama Reads Mean Tweets, Drops The Mic On Trump

It’s become almost second nature, these days, when we hear Michael Stipe’s voice kick in, howling “Everybody huuuuuuuuuuurts,” that it’s time for people to read some mean tweets about themselves, written, typically, by anonymous strangers.

Last night, for the second and likely final time, our outgoing (pains to write that) Commander-in-Chief appeared on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live to read some of the very best–or, meanest–tweets at his own expense. A mix of random nastiness, ‘Thanks Obama’ jokes, and dated references (“This jeans thing. This is so…old! This was years ago,” he pleads) lead to a wonderful payoff, as the final entry is from one particular avid tweeter, one who’s often opinionated, often wrong, and happens to be running a doomed and sordid campaign for our nation’s highest office.

“President Obama will go down as perhaps the worst president in the history of the United States!” the orange man’s tweet reads.

Our fearless leader, smart and quick as ever, turned that right on its head.

“At least I will go down as a President,” he sternly says, dropping the phone to the ground while giving the camera a direct stare, a parallel of LeBron James flying over a man, slam dunking in his face.
