BK Mag’s Northside Festival Friday Mixtape #2
The air is warm, friends, and the gradual creep of summer is already feeling like a full-on hug. With June in the air, and June on our minds, we are back again to bring you the second in our weekly series of Friday playlists in anticipation of the 10th anniversary edition of Brooklyn’s Northside Festival.
Vol. 2 boasts some of the newer additions to the festival schedule, featuring pissed-off punk from Pennsylvania’s Pissed Jeans, classic indie song-craft from scene stalwart Lou Barlow (Sebadoh, Dinosaur Jr.), and open-hearted pop from Shamir — a festival favorite returning this year after playing his first ever show at Northside 2014. Also in store is the fog-cloaked ballads of Berlin’s Carla dal Forno! The giddy hip-hop of Nnamdi Ogbonnaya! The DIY delights of returning heroes Dear Nora!
As with Vol. 1, we’ve provided handy ticket links below, so you and your new faves are only a click away from your summer date. Settle in and listen up. We’ll see you so soon.
